On the way out to the Redhead wreck, we are seeing more of these
Out for a fish on lake Macquarie, fishes better by the day.
We caught this little bloke while out fishing in Lake Macquarie, it's called a Gurnard, they do get a lot bigger than this, and eat well, let this one go to fight another day.
Just playing with Piscatus on Paulus in the lake,, this area is known as the traps. The boat Paulus draws maps as it moves over areas, just some bottom mapping, interesting. Note this is all below water.
Just a few visitors, nothing available so they left.
This is a Marlin, caught by Harmen on boat Paulus, out at the shelf , the fish was swum alongside the boat, and released.
Below is the Boat "Paulus", its 6.2 Mt long, with a hard top and a 150 Hp etec motor. We leave the ramp at 5am and back at 4.30pm, up to a 2 hr trip out, a day at the shelf uses 125 to 150 lts of fuel for the day. Now the shelf is 55 to 75 Km out, Still just love getting out there for the day.
The boat is well equipped with all safety gear, extra fuel under the floor, you name it we got it, and out that far out you may need it. Some of the Sharks we have seen are as long as the boat.
But Then we may be throwing a few plastics around Kooragang or maybe throwing a few in the Lake Macquarie,,, the whole fishing thing is weather and wind dependant.
Electronics layout, 10.5inch GPS, 10.5inch Sounder. and a 17inch monitor for Piscatus Mapping, we also have an Auto pilot, we plot a track on the GPS and the Boat follows it, makes it easy when trolling.
High speed out to the shelf , setup and time for a coffee, hoping for a fish. A very Big Fish.
How nice does it get, 55 km out to sea, blue and as smooth as.

This is my mate Wayne's boat, called Black n Blue. It's a 26 ft Blackwatch. Note the 2 Marlin in the back. I said pick one up and show me, 85 to 90 kg, not likely. That's Wayne at the helm, and Roger (TD) trying to pickup the fish. Sorry "Rog".
