Protimeter HygroMaster 2 Flooring Kit: For moisture measurements in concrete floor slabs using the relative humidity in-situ probe method.

The Proitmeter HygroMaster 2 Flooring Kit allows flooring inspectors to take moisture measurements in concrete floor slabs using the relative humidity in-situ probe method. The in-situ humidity test is being adopted worldwide and is considered the most accurate way for contractors and inspectors to ensure that moisture levels in concrete slabs meet the reccomended requirements prior to installing a floor covering.

Moisture levels in floor slabs are critical to understand, as excessive moisture can lead to catastrophic and expensive floor failures. Global standards are in place, such as ASTM F2170.

• Calibration Interval: We recommend that customers establish calibration intervals based upon their own experience, work environment and qualtiy procedures. Based on our product knowledge, data and customer feedback, a one year calibration interval is a good starting point.

How it Works

In-situ Relative Humidiy Testing

Mini humidity probes are placed in holes in the concrete slab to 40% depth and sealed where they acclimatise to the acutal relative humidty of the concrete slab. The instrument is connected to each probe in turn by a cable to take the humidity readings. The measurement presentaion helps the user to:

• Determine the actual RH reading of the concrete slab
• Perform tests as required by ASTM F2170
• Determine if a slab is ready for flooring application according to manufacturer specifications

Hygrometry

This mode measures or monitors buildings for adequate ventilation affecting indoor air quality and moisture problems. Measures relative humidity and temperature, dew point and surface temperature, surface proximity to dew point (condensation) and grains per pound, as well as multiple psychrometric calculations

• Allows measurement of equipment such as dehumidifiers
• Measures equilibrium relative humidity in concrete floors using the in situ probe method or humidity box
• Use to detect conditions for mold and fungus growth, that can lead to unhealthy living conditions

Surface Temperature (IR)

This mode checks surface temperature, utilizing a laser pointer, to calculate proximity to dew point.
