Product Description

The new and improved PosiTest PC Powder Checker allows you to affordably measure uncured powder coatings to predict a cured thickness. Now more accurate than ever, this uncured powder thickness gauge uses improved sensor technology to allow measurement on small tubes, odd shapes and moving parts. The new stand-alone unit is supplied ready to measure right out of the box, with no PosiTector gauge required. The gauge uses AAA alkaline or rechargeable batteries to provide up to 16 hours of continuous use, meaning no dangling cables or cords to disturb the uncured coating.

Using non-contact ultrasonic technology, the PC Powder Checker offers up to four times the measurement speed of the previous generation and is ideal for moving lines and swinging parts. Other features include Scan Mode to allow for continuous measurement across large areas and Target Grid to assist with distance and alignment while measuring. Up to 999 readings can be stored and downloaded to a PC with the included USB cable and converted into custom PDF reports using PosiSoft desktop software.

The PosiTest PC Powder Checker is supplied complete with Zero Fixture, 4 x AAA batteries, flat-head screwdriver, instructions, replacement probe screen, protective lens shield, USB cable, hard shell case and two-year warranty.

How Does it Work?

The PosiTest PC Powder Checker uses high-frequency ultrasound to predict the cured thickness of uncured powder coatings; no calibration adjustment is required for most powders. Measuring powder coatings at the time of application improves quality and prevents production delays by ensuring the applied coating will adhere to minimum and maximum dry film thickness specifications when cured. This saves both time and money by preventing wasted product and helping reduce additional labour expenditures.

The PosiTest PC test method complies with ASTM D7378 - Standard Practice for Measurement of Thickness of Applied Coating Powders to Predict Cured Thickness.
